Vietnam Macroeconomic Outlook

Vietnam has emerged as one of ASEAN's fastest-growing economies, propelled by low labour costs and its role as an alternative manufacturing hub in the wake of the US and China trade shift. A diversified, export-driven base anchored in high-value electronics has moved its current account into sustained surplus and cemented its place in global supply chains. Its focus on assembly still limits value creation and keeps per capita growth modest, and reliance on imported inputs weighs on the currency over the long term, but low public debt, a high savings rate, and a cautious fiscal stance reinforce its resilience.
